COOLING TOWERS SPARE PARTS AND FUNCTIONAL RESTORATIONS

A cooling tower is a simple machine, which exploits the evaporative effect of water in contact with air in order to assure an efficient cooling of the same water. From a constructive point of view, a cooling tower is made up of few simple components, that in the course of their working are subject to a natural deterioration. For this reason it is necessary to carry out a constant activity of verification and maintenance so that the tower can continue to work over the time according to the project parameters.  

SCAM T.P.E. S.r.l., trusting in its long experience in the industrial refrigeration field, is able to propose to its customers a wide range of spare parts and components intended to restoration, improvement and renewal of any type of open circuit axial cooling tower according to the normal activities of ordinary and extraordinary maintenance. Many spare parts are available on stock in order to be able to face emergency and provision situations. Moreover SCAM T.P.E. S.r.l. not only provides the simple replacement of the component but also proposes studies about performance implementation for any cooling towers, with patented components coming from several studies of research and development.  

SCAM T.P.E. S.r.l. specializes in the maintenance and exclusive supply of Tower Tech Ltd patented spare parts acquiring the building license and developing an important know-how regarding this type of high technology towers (see also section “Tower Tech cooling towers” in our products).

SCAM T.P.E. S.r.l. proposes for all its models  a wide range of spare parts:

  • - High efficiency drift eliminators in PP or PVC, version “honeycomb” type CELLULAR or “corrugated fin” type  WAVE and H-MOON (see also section “Filling and separators” in our products);
  • - Water distribution systems with primary and secondary pipes realized in metallic or plastic material with appropriate surface protection according to the client requirements and in accordance to the technical standards  (ISO, DIN, ASME.);
  • - Water spraying nozzles of dynamic/static type at high efficiency (see also section “Technology and utilization sectors”) able to generate effectively a square distribution rose on the filling below;
  • - Heat exchange packages of various types (see also section “Filling and separators” in our products) according to circulating water quality, distinguishing the following types:
  • - FILM made up of self-extinguishing PVC sheets or Polypropylene that cannot rot and high temperatures resistant. In our products range we can count: FILM packages narrow pitch SCAM/FL-X12 for very clean water, and wide pitch at vertical channels SCAM/FL-Y20 for clean industrial water;
  • - HYBRID SCAM/ SP-TCK  made up of a three-dimensional geometry grid, self-supporting in polypropylene, able to function in the presence of averagely dirty water (500 ppm of suspended solids);
  • - SPLASH SCAM/SP-HP600  made up of block grills, backed, in polypropylene able to function in presence of very dirty water. The grills are separated by spacers, causing large dimensions of the air/water passages, with the guarantee of anti-clogging even in the presence of a great content of suspended solids and colloids.
  • - Air inlet honeycomb windows type NET65 in plastics (PP or PVC) or in hot-dipped galvanized steel fins according to UNI EN ISO 1461:1999 standard;
  • - Direct coupling fan groups (see also section “Technology and utilization sectors”) made up of various components such as:
  • - three-phase multipolar electric motors, TEFC, equipped with heaters and prepared for use with inverter, in special execution, suitable to function in wet environments;
  • - multi-blade axial fans, in extruded aluminum, or in reinforced plastics, completed with galvanized steel hub. The high efficiency blades are of asymmetric “NACA” aeronautic type for a low noise impact;
  • - protection nets on the fans in hot-dipped galvanized steel or in other materials for special executions.
  • - Indirect coupling fan groups (see also section “Technology and utilization sectors”) made up of various components such as:
  • - three-phase multipolar electric motors, TEFC, equipped with heaters and prepared for use with inverter, in special execution, suitable to function in wet environments;
  • - multi-blade axial fans, in extruded aluminum, or in reinforced plastics, completed with galvanized steel hub. The high efficiency blades are of asymmetric “NACA” aeronautic type for a low noise impact;
  • - protection nets on the fans in hot-dipped galvanized steel or in other materials for special executions.
  • - carbon fiber drive shafts of self-supporting type, able to tolerate small misalignments that may occur on service. In order to absorb vibrations, the joints are of elastic, disc packs type, minimizing assembly time;
  • - multiple gears reducers, designed in accordance to standard AGMA and made up of watertight chassis with labyrinth seals and properly tightened in order to withstand mechanical stress;
  • - reinforced fiberglass stacks characterized by a circular and conic inlet junction so that the outlet section is divergent in order to obtain a dynamic pressure recovery with a consequent high efficiency of the axial impeller. The stack sections are connected with adaptable joints and equipped with an inspection door. The stacks are fixed to the tower structure through dedicated bolts;
  • - Accessories accompanying the cooling tower such as floating make-up valves, antifreeze resistances, interception valves, energy saving VDI systems (see also section “Energy saving”), local equipment.
  • - Noise reduction devices (see also section “Towers silencing and plants”) for the abatement of the noise generated by the fan group (circular silencers with or without inlet ogive SCAM/SV and SCAM/GV) and by the water sound (aspiration soundproofing baffles SCAM/ LVR-ST and soundproofing mat SCAMAT in the water collecting basin);
  • - Stacks for stale air exit and tower perimeter tamponade proposed in various materials (plastic and metal), compatible with cooling tower requirements.

Thanks to its multiannual experience, SCAM T.P.E. S.r.l. can propose services for the revamping activities of preassembled cooling towers, assuring the partial or total restoration of them by means of personnel specialized in the supervision and/or organization of the maintenance with workforces on field.

SCAM T.P.E. S.r.l. may have a mobile detection station, equipped with tools of analysis and processing of all parameters necessary for the functioning of a cooling tower, in order to be able to assist the client with an absolute immediacy.
